Casting for ‘Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children’ has begun

Backstage.Com has begun searching for the perfect young man to play Jacob, who is of course the lead in the YA-Novel ‘Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children’ by Ransom Riggs

20th Century Fox is currently seeking talent for the Tim Burton-directed feature film, “Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children,” or “Miss P.

Based on the young adult novel of the same name, the story tells “the tale of a boy who, following a horrific family tragedy, follows clues that take him to an abandoned orphanage on a Welsh island.”

The film will be directed by Tim Burton and distributed by 20th Century Fox. Filming is set to start this August in London, UK. Casting auditions for Jacob have begun! Ransom himself said in his blog that he would love it if the talent cast as Jacob was some “unknown, some wild, untested talent plucked from obscurity, a face no one knows … yet.” and I agree! Personally myself while reading Miss P I always pictured everything animated, like s hauntingly beautiful stop motion animation (think Coraline or Nightmare Before Christmas), but that isn’t the case. Jacob, Miss Peregrine, Olive, Emma, Millard, and the rest of the peculiars will all be full flesh and blood people, and I can’t wait to see what faces fill this cast.

Well-known, unknown, or even someone you know… who do you want to bring Jacob Portman to life? Let us know in the comments below!
